Curriculum

Students are exposed to a broad and exciting range of integrated curriculum based experiences designed to stimulate thinking and the love of learning, combined with a solid grounding in numeracy and literacy.  Information Technology skills are integrated into the curriculum. There is a computers to students ratio of 1:5 and children progressively develop Keyboard skills, desktop publishing, multimedia presentations and research through supervised Internet access.  Our integrated curriculum is designed to provide challenges for learners and to allow them to take full advantage of the opportunities that each key learning area has to offer.

We aim to do this through a caring Christian Environment that encompasses the academic, physical, social and cultural dimensions of learning.

The Key Learning Areas are -: English, Mathematics, Science, SOSE (Studies of Society and Environment), Religious Education, Health and Physical Education, Technology, The Arts and Cultural Literacy and Languages.

Extra Curriculum Activities

Holy Family offers its students many opportunities to explore their extra- curricula talents. These activities include Choir, Instrumental lessons (woodwind, brass and percussion), School Band, private piano tuition, tennis lessons, chess club, inter school sport such as Soccer, Netball and AFL, Brisbane Lions's and Qld Roar Training, ICT committee and other service groups in the upper school.

Year 7 also have the opportunity to travel to Canberra for a week in August/September.  This trip is designed to meet the curriculum studies of Civics, Citizenship and Democracy.

We have a close relationship with the Parish of Indooroopilly.  The children who are participants in the Sacramental program are supported by the school and activities such as Children’s Liturgy of the Word and special celebrations are publicised and attendance encouraged by the school.
