Parent Inclusion Strategies

The parents of Holy Family are recognised as the first educators of their children. their input is considered invaluable to assisst in the holistic learning and development of the child. The parents are encouraged in assisting with their child's education in a number of ways.

Some of these include:

  • Parental assistance with literacy and numeracy block rotations
  • Support a Reader Programs
  • Reading assistance within the classroom
  • Parent support in the Resource centre
  • Parent aide with visual art lessons (with specialist teachers).
  • Parent assistance with school choir.
  • Active P&F association supporting the school.
  • Open nights, afternoons, days to encourage parents into the classrooms
  • Open communication with the parents informing them of a variety of aspects of their child's education
  • Parent attendance at assemblies and special liturigal celebrations.

Parent and Friends Meetings

Parent and Friend meetings take place on the third Tuesday of each month.

At Holy Family we welcome parental involvement in the education of their children.  Holy Family has an extremely proactive Parents and Friends Association which provides the school community with many activities that promote a welcoming social atmosphere for all families and provides opportunities to raise funds for specific projects, such as the P&F built Art Room, air conditioners for every classroom, upgrading computer resources and purchasing and installing Phonic Ear sound systems in numerous classrooms.

Class Parents

Each class has a one or two parents to help with communication to parents about fund raising or class activities during the year. This group also helps new parents to the school to feel welcome and introduce them to other class parents.
