At Holy Family, we believe that learning doesn’t stop when the bell rings and that’s where Power Hour comes in. Designed specifically for students in Years 4 to 6, Power Hour is a dedicated time after school that helps children consolidate what they’ve learned in class and receive extra support with schoolwork or homework.
Held in a calm and focused environment, Power Hour offers students the chance to revisit key concepts from the day, ask questions they didn’t get to in class, and build confidence in areas they find challenging. Whether it’s tackling tricky maths problems, polishing a writing piece, or reviewing science topics, our staff are on hand to guide and encourage every step of the way.
Power Hour isn’t just about catching up, it’s about moving forward. Students who attend regularly often show improved understanding, greater independence, and a stronger sense of ownership over their learning. It’s also a great opportunity to develop study habits that will serve them well in future years.
We know that every child learns differently, so Power Hour is flexible and responsive to individual needs. Some students come with specific homework questions, while others use the time to deepen their understanding of class topics. And for those who simply need a quiet space to focus, Power Hour provides just that.
Parents have told us they appreciate the extra support, and students say they enjoy the relaxed, productive atmosphere. Students leave Power Hour feeling confident and motivated.
